The Mississippi Foundation for Medical Care, Inc., dba Information & Quality Healthcare (IQH), is a nonprofit corporation chartered in 1971. IQH has provided quitline tobacco cessation services to Alabamians since 2005 through grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State of Alabama's Department of Public Health Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch. The IQH Tobacco Quitline is a charter member of the North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC) and is active with the national network of quitlines. The Tobacco Quitline is structured to work with all types of tobacco use. Protocols based on both the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Clinical Practice Guideline, Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, and the latest evidence-based research are used to help users quit all forms of tobacco. Support materials specific to the use of smoke, spit or chewing tobacco are available.
